Deliver Us from Weevil

Not sure what kind of a weevil this is, but I would like to thank him (or her) for being patient while having it's picture taken.

Yes, it is a real bug. It is of the weevil family. The most famous of which is the Boll Weevil, which can decimate a cotton crop if left unchecked. But I don't think they go this far north. My best guess is that it is a HollyHock Weevil. I wish I could get an entomologist to look at this blog.
