Yes, it is a real bug. It is of the weevil family. The most famous of which is the Boll Weevil, which can decimate a cotton crop if left unchecked. But I don't think they go this far north. My best guess is that it is a HollyHock Weevil. I wish I could get an entomologist to look at this blog.
Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now keep it up!
